Ministries at CCC

Discipleship

The Great Commission in Matthew 28 is a mandate for every believer to multiply and make disciples. We encourage every member to be part of our gender-specific discipleship groups. These groups are designed to cultivate intimacy and spiritual growth through prayer, study, and mutual accountability. In addition to our discipleship groups, we encourage everyone to participate in our larger, mixed-gender community groups that meet every other Wednesday night. We gather in a member's home to share a meal and discuss the Scriptures with a focus on life-application.

Missions

We are called to be witnesses for Christ in our neighborhoods, city, "and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8). CCC supports like-minded missionaries around the globe who boldly herald the good news. As John Piper has said, “There are only three kinds of people: goers, senders, and the disobedient.” By God’s grace, He will enable us to continue to prayerfully and faithfully support gospel partners abroad, as well as raise up future goers within our midst.

Evangelism

Our vision is to reach Silicon Valley with the good news of Jesus. We encourage members to have meaningful conversations with people in their own lives and to participate in our ministry at San Jose State University (SJSU). On campus, we host Bible studies and do "The Public Theology Show," an online show that discusses important worldview issues with people in public. During the show, we bring a sign with a controversial or thought-provoking question to a public location and invite people over to talk. We occasionally upload one of our conversations to YouTube. Members can view the sign-up sheet for this ministry on the Member's Page.

Outreach

Preborn children are the most needy and oppressed people group in our city. Tens of thousands of babies are murdered in California every year through abortion (an estimated 132,680 in 2017). Proverbs 24:11 says, "Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter." CCC concentrates its outreach efforts on saving babies from abortion. We run a sidewalk ministry program called Rescue the Innocent (click here for more information). Our sidewalk rescue team goes to Planned Parenthood to meet the needs of patients, discuss the issue of abortion, share the good news, and pray for our preborn neighbors. We invite Bay Area Christians to join the team and participate in these life-saving efforts.

Sunday School & Seminars

Every Sunday, following our fellowship luncheon, we provide Sunday school for our children from 1:30-2:30. The curriculum we use walks the children through a four-year program designed to increase their knowledge of the Bible, expose them to the gospel, and establish sound doctrine.

Our Faith & Practice seminars cover a wide range of topics and meet every other Wednesday, from 7:00-8:30pm, in the Sanctuary. Our current series is called Proving Christianity. The sessions focus on equipping members to demonstrate the truthfulness of the Christian faith. We enjoy a bring-your-own-dinner together in the fellowship hall at 6:00 for anyone interested.

Children

At CCC we love children and seek to have their hearts engaged and transformed by the love of Christ and the good news of the gospel. We do this best by equipping our parents to raise them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.  We encourage the little ones to see, experience, and learn how to worship God by actively engaging in our corporate gathering.  For those in the process of training younger children, we offer a training room equipped with a live sermon video feed designed for parents to teach their children to sit and listen to the sermon quietly. We also provide a nursery room with childcare for children ages 3 and under during the sermon.
